The Shore Thing
The Shore Thing
The Shore Thing is an initiative of the Marine Life Information Network, working with community groups and others to collect information on the marine life of rocky shores around Britain. The project follows on from the UK's Marine Biodiversity and Climatic Change program (MarClim). MarClim provided strong evidence that recent climatic change has resulted in changes in the abundance, population structure and biogeographic range of a number of intertidal indicator species. All the information collected by volunteers will be made available online and will help to build a picture of the present state of UK rocky shores and measure change in the future.
Groomsport Village Association wants you to get involved with this.
More than 30 local people met at the Boathouse on Tuesday 11 August between 2 - 4 pm and got involved in our rockpool ramble.
